Celebration Evening 2017
Lipson Co-operative Academy Celebrates Success
Lipson Co-operative Academy's 'Evening of Celebration' is always a highlight of the academy's calendar and this year's event, at Central Methodist Hall on Monday 27th November, was no exception.
Over 500 students, parents and staff gathered together to celebrate the achievements of Lipson students in a range of categories from academic achievement through to 'overcoming adversity'.
The Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Councillor Wendy Foster was in attendance to present awards in a number of categories and entertainment was provided by the Lipson Co-operative Big Band and through performances from the academy's renowned performing arts provision. This included a fantastic rendition of 'Kids in America' from the upcoming Lipson musical 'Back to the 80s'.
This was a very special night and a reminder of the potential of young people to achieve at the highest level and contribute to strengthening the local and wider community. Principal Lynda Budd expressed her pride, 'This is always a very special night and a reminder of how amazing our students really are. We celebrate not only their achievements but the partnership between Lipson and parents that provides the strong support that every young person needs to succeed.’
