Lipson Co-operative Academy welcomes its Alumni back to the community

Lipson Cooperative Academy welcomed members of its alumni community back to work with their prospective sixth form students.  All Year 11 students were invited to attend a sixth form Induction week began with a Build your Brand session led by members of the college’s alumni including the CEO of Plymouth Drake Consultancy, an IT specialist for client databases, a recent University of Oxford graduate, a self-employed animator and several undergraduates currently studying Architecture, Psychology and History at university.  The aim was to encourage current students to explore ways in which they can stand out from their peers so as to present their very best to universities and employers, making the most of all educational opportunities available to them.  . 

Rebecca Marshall, Assistant Head of Sixth Form said of the project “Working with our alumni is an essential element of our cooperative community.  We want to ensure that our cooperative community extends beyond the classroom and beyond Year 13, the point at which the majority of our students leave us.  It was a great opportunity for our students to hear the success stories of some of our alumni and can only serve to aspire them to achieve their best.”
