Thrilling Wembley Trip for Lipson Students
On Friday 17th November 44 very excited students from Lipson Co-operative, along with 4 super excited staff, embarked on a trip to the home of English football - Wembley Stadium to see England take on Germany. The crowd on the night was near full capacity at 82,500 and anticipation levels could not have been any higher!
A quiet and comfortable journey to London soon ended with chants resounding around the coach as the excitement was reached fever pitch! Over 30 souvenir scarfs as the
Lipson contingent disembarked the coach and set off to the iconic Wembley Stadium.
As the students walked up the steps inside Wembley, they were in awe of just how huge and amazing the venue was with one student just saying ‘Wow’ over and over again!
Lipson teacher Katy Geraghty commented, ‘The look on the students’ faces made all of the preparation and planning for such a trip worthwhile. It is these experiences that are priceless, particularly for some students who have never ventured beyond Devon. Many thanks to all the staff that made this happen.’
The game ended in a scoreless draw but this did not matter – it was the thrill of the experience that will stay with the students for a long time.
